TALES FROM OTHER WORLDS PRESENTS

RONA MAC

Rona Mac (she/her) is a self-invented, genre-fusing, DIY singer-songwriter from rural West Wales. She crafts guitar driven tracks which provide a hooky bed for her distinct vocals and sophisticated lyricism, resulting in raw, lo-fi indie-pop with a generous nod to folk and blues sounds.

Her music comes unfiltered and full of feeling, as she says “If I can talk about things we've been told we shouldn't, and help people connect to feelings they tucked away in their teens, then I'll be happy when I'm old”.

Rona mimics her DIY recordings with a solo DIY performance using loop pedals with harmony, beat box, guitar solos and many textures to build energy and ambience, alongside stripped back and vulnerable songs which aim to draw you closer, resulting in a performance full of contrasts. This particular performance will be a mixture of old and new, giving you the full flavour of her musical journey.
"The West Walian artist holds us in her spell, her tone is haunting, her delivery effortlessly shifting from lilting to fearsome and defiant in a moment. Her songs are vivid, raw and emotive they show a remarkable maturity beyond her years."

SUPPORT: MILLIE MILNER

It's a complicated emotional world and young Yorkshire singer songwriter Millie Milner is determined to analyse and make sense of it all.
Millie Milner is not afraid to expose their frailties and the emotions they experiences. In so doing, their songs are beautifully human, fragile and entirely relatable.
As a busker, performer and queer artist, musical expression is a large part of who Milner is. This artist uses their clear voice for a purpose and shoots from the hip.
Hard to define, in exploring their world Milner's music is sometimes defiant, sometimes vulnerable and always deliciously delicate.
Fast gaining a reputation as a true musical artist able to express themselves and explain the world in song, it's time to get to know Milner through their tunes and voice.
The addition of the three backing vocalists that make up the backing under the name of 'The Deadnames' has added a whole new layer to Millie's performances and brought even more beauty to their songs and the stories they tell.
